Fancy Wrought Iron Entrance Gate (BP182)
BP182 has one of the most complex outlines of any gate we make.

The top rolls across both leaves like a breaking wave, and beneath it flowing bars, leaves and a central crest are woven into a dense, sculptural composition.
Massive materials are worked precisely by our best blacksmiths and metalworkers, and the result is one of the most striking wrought iron driveway gates in our portfolio.
Motifs borrowed from fantasy
BP182 is a double-leaf gate with a very wide clear opening, although we make it to any size. Its upper frame runs in one smooth arc that climbs into a crest above the point where the two leaves meet. Below it, broad ribbons of lattice sweep diagonally across each leaf like wings or breaking surf, and in the middle of every leaf sits a large roundel built from concentric rings with a forged fleuron at its heart.
Ornamental fittings, bordered fields and a closed lower section hold all this movement together. Nothing in the design is straight for long, yet the composition stays symmetrical, which is why the gate looks deliberate rather than busy.
Bronze tones and hand-picked highlights
After forging, the gate is hot-dip galvanized and finished in a dark bronze tone. The scrolls, the rings of the roundels and the small finials are then picked out by hand in a lighter metallic shade, so the relief reads clearly when the sun is low. The quality of the forging matters here as much as the design: each element is heated and shaped on its own, then joined so that water has nowhere to settle, and that is what keeps a gate like this looking new for many years.
Classical house or modern villa
Because its motifs come from fantasy rather than from one historical period, BP182 sits comfortably in front of classical and modernist architecture alike. The leaves can hang between tall concrete or masonry pillars, such as the white rendered piers in the photos, and the gate also works with a brick wall or a metal fence. In the last picture it is part of a long run of matching spans that repeat the wave motif along the whole boundary, which turns the entrance into the calling card of the property.
Gates that break with convention in a similar way are collected among our one-of-a-kind gate and fence designs.
