Artistic metalwork is where we give steel any shape we like: bonsai trees forged as wall reliefs, a house sign growing from branches, a giant lamp shaped like an old tree with a fox and a pheasant, a lady’s shoe, ants carrying a boot and mice pulling down the moon.

What is artistic metalwork?

We work mostly by hand, using traditional blacksmithing and artistic metal shaping, because pieces like these cannot be made any other way. Many of them can be seen in our gallery in Dębica. For full-size works see our metal sculptures.

Artistic metalwork means shaping metal, steel, copper, brass, bronze and stainless steel, into forms with artistic rather than purely practical value. In our workshop we combine hot forging, repoussé (hammering a relief into sheet metal), chasing of fine details, welding and hand patination. Our pieces are not made from a mould: every leaf, feather or fold of fabric is shaped separately, which is why no two are ever identical.

Custom metalwork for homes, companies and towns

We make metalwork for private clients as well as for companies, public institutions and local authorities; our work decorates public parks and roundabouts in Poland and abroad. A commission usually begins with a piece from our gallery or with a photo or sketch you send us together with the dimensions of the space; if nothing fits, we prepare a new design. We make figures of people and animals in steel, reliefs, garden decorations, lamps and sconces, and pieces that combine sculpture with function, such as letterboxes and house number signs. The finished work is protected for its setting: a sculpture for the living room is finished differently from one that will stand in the garden all year.

We are one of the few workshops that rely mainly on hand work, because metal art of this kind can only be made by hand, and our forged steel sculptures are made mainly with traditional blacksmithing and artistic metal-shaping techniques.

Reliefs for walls and facades

Reliefs mounted on walls, facades and interiors are a group of their own, from bonsai trees with a house number to large-format decorations such as the steel moth measuring 420 × 200 cm on the gable of a restaurant. Elements of metalwork also appear in our forged furniture, railings and gates, where they meet classic artistic blacksmithing.

Gifts and commissions in metal

Smaller pieces of artistic metalwork make memorable gifts and company commissions: a house sign with a family name, a relief of a favourite tree, an award or a sculpture made for an anniversary. Each is designed with you and made by hand, so it becomes a unique object rather than a product chosen from a catalogue.
