Wrought Iron Mailboxes and Letterboxes
A mailbox is usually the first thing a visitor or courier sees, so it is worth making it beautiful. We forge mailboxes and letterboxes (post boxes, as they are often called in the UK) for walls, fences and gate pillars, as well as free-standing designs on their own post.
All of them are hot-dip galvanized, so they will never rust, and most lock with a key.
Our forged mailboxes
Classic or sculpted
Choose a classic box with scrolls and leaves, or a sculpture that holds your post: an owl among oak twigs, a stork postman in a cap or a mail bag hanging from a forged bonsai tree. We can match the box to your gate or fence, add your house number and size it for large envelopes and parcels.
Small works of art for your fence
A letterbox belongs to every house and usually sits in a prominent place, so it is worth making it a showpiece. A beautiful blacksmith letterbox may be a small part of the fence, but it changes the way the whole entrance looks. Our letterboxes are not standard products; many are small works of art in which artistic metalwork, the hand shaping of steel by blacksmith artists, plays a large part. They can be mounted on forged fences, masonry pillars or any other type of fence, and we also make through-the-wall letterboxes.
Mailbox FAQ
Can the mailbox be built into a fence or gate?
Yes. Many clients have the box set into a fence panel or pillar, with the slot on the street side and the door on the garden side.
Will it fit US or UK post?
We size every box to order, so it can take standard letters, magazines or small parcels, whatever your postal service delivers.
Can a wrought iron mailbox be made with my house number or name?
Yes. A house number, a street name or the family name can be forged into the door or the front of the box, or fixed as a matching plate beside it.
