Wrought Iron Chairs, Rocking Chairs and More

Here you will find the forged furniture that does not fit anywhere else: chairs and armchairs, rocking chairs, a hanging egg chair, a throne, marble-topped consoles and a large bird cage.

Many of these pieces are one-offs created for a particular client, from our designs or from the client’s own vision.

Our chairs, rocking chairs and consoles

Forged chairs

Forged chairs are metal chairs made of thick steel, shaped by a master of artistic blacksmithing. The number of possible designs is unlimited; the only limits are imagination and the blacksmith’s skill. Our workshop employs some of the best craftsmen in the country, so we can make any chair from our catalogue or from your sketch or photo, or design a completely new one for you. Forged chairs can look classic or completely unusual and strongly designer, depending on what you are looking for.

Metal garden chairs

Not all metal garden chairs are forged. Some are made mainly with metalwork techniques, which are closely related to metal sculpture, so these chairs often take surprising forms; we usually make them as sets with designer epoxy tables. Metal garden chairs are also exceptionally weather-resistant: wooden chairs outdoors deteriorate within a few years, plastic chairs discolour, crack and blow over, and aluminium chairs oxidise and are easily moved by strong wind. Metal garden chairs, especially forged ones, are practically indestructible, provided they come from a professional workshop and are hot-dip galvanized and painted with high-quality flexible paints, which is our standard for every garden chair.

Forged armchairs

We make armchairs in the same designs as our chairs. They usually have armrests and wider seats, and although they are made of hard metal they are very comfortable, because the seat, back and arms are properly shaped and finished with wood, fabric, sometimes stone, or removable cushions. A forged armchair is a perfect companion to our garden tables and metal benches.

Our garden armchairs stand out for their design, strength, resistance to the weather and corrosion, and comfort. We make them to order and to our own designs, entirely of forged steel, and many of the technical solutions used in them were developed in our own workshop, which is why several of our garden armchairs, like the designer garden armchair MK85, cannot be found anywhere else. Chairs and armchairs are only part of our range; all our garden and indoor forged furniture, including benches and tables, is gathered in our forged furniture section.

Rocking chairs, consoles and bird cages

A forged rocking chair is heavy enough to rock smoothly and stay where it is, and we make them with wooden slats, upholstered cushions or a footrest, like the rocking chair with a footrest MK64. For hallways and living rooms we forge consoles with marble or granite tops, and for bird lovers large, decorative cages such as the wrought iron parrot cage MK60, built as a piece of furniture rather than a pet accessory.

Our wrought iron rocking chairs combine forged frames with wooden slats or upholstered cushions, and are heavy enough to rock smoothly without creeping. For outdoor seating, see our garden benches.

Furniture for interiors with character

Forged chairs, consoles and armchairs work beautifully indoors as well: in castle halls, manor dining rooms, loft apartments and restaurants. Indoors we can use finer finishes, gilding, velvet upholstery or marble tops, and match the furniture to a staircase railing or a chandelier made in our workshop.

FAQ

Are the chairs suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, most can stay outdoors. They are galvanized and painted, and the wooden parts are oiled or varnished.

Can you make a matching table?

Yes. Any chair can be paired with one of our forged tables in the same style.

Can chairs be upholstered?

Yes. Seats and backs can be fitted with removable cushions or upholstery in outdoor fabric, leather or velvet for interiors, chosen to match the colour of the steel.
