Huge Forged Baroque Palace Gate (BP101)

BP101 is one of the largest and most massive gates we have ever built.

Made on a grand scale for a very demanding client, it is a complete palace set: the main gate, an extension and two further palace gates, all forming one powerful, coherent composition.

Only our most talented blacksmiths and metalworkers work on gates of this kind. In the photo, our installer gives a sense of the scale.

Matching the crest to the facade

A set of this size can be hung between masonry piers, as at the residence with classical pilasters in the photo, or carried entirely on steel posts. The crest, with its cartouche and acanthus scrolls, is the element we adjust most carefully. We draw it against an elevation of the house so that the top of the gate answers the cornice line instead of competing with it, and the whole set looks as if it had been planned together with the building. Fixed panels and openwork forged columns then tie the main gate into the rest of the fence.
