Forged Corner Bench (MK16)

MK16 is a corner bench made to fill the corner of a terrace, conservatory or pool room, with four tall arched backs full of Art Nouveau scrolls.

The backs rise in a row of rounded arches, two wide ones on the outside and two narrower ones meeting in the corner, and each is filled with long whiplash curves and spirals in black steel. The seat and lower backrest are made of warm red-brown slats that soften all that ironwork. In the photo the bench stands in a pool room with a matching curved coffee table, and together they turn an awkward corner into the most comfortable spot in the room.

Why a corner bench works

Corners usually end up holding a plant pot. A corner bench turns that space into seating for several people, and because they sit half facing each other rather than in a row, conversation comes more easily. Put a small table in front of it and the corner becomes the place everyone heads for in the evening. It works just as well in a gazebo or under a pergola, where it makes good use of the space.

We match the length of both sides to your corner, whether it is formed by a wall, a hedge, a railing or the side of the house, and agree the colour and the finish of the seat with you.
