Hand-Forged Metal Railing (BA79)
BA79 was designed to complement a beautiful interior rather than dominate it. Delicate sections are forged into flowing forms with gilded accents, under a wooden handrail.

It suits residences with refined decoration, like the gilded doors in the photo.
Complementing, not dominating
BA79 was designed for an interior that is already richly decorated, with gilded doors and fine joinery, so the railing had to support the room rather than compete with it. Delicate sections are forged into free spirals and large, three-dimensional leaves, with gilded accents that echo the doors, and a wooden handrail completes the composition.
Lighter as it rises
The lower part of each span is denser, to strengthen the stair where people start to climb. As the flight rises, the pattern opens and becomes lighter, which keeps the balance between mass and transparency. The top line follows the curve of the stair without kinks or breaks in the rhythm of the ornament.
Gilding to match the interior
Gilded accents look best when they relate to something else in the room: door fittings, a mirror frame, a chandelier. On BA79 we matched the tone of the gold to the doors, so the railing and the joinery read as one scheme. We can do the same with brass, bronze or silver finishes.
Railings tailored to existing interiors make up a large part of our interior railings work.
