Wrinkles, braids and a claw necklace

The bust shows an elderly chief with deep wrinkles, a piercing gaze, feathers pinned in his hair and long braids. On his chest hangs a necklace of claws and beads with a round medallion, and the robe has the texture of fur. A graphite patina with lighter rub-through highlights brings out the sculpted face. It looks splendid on a pedestal in a study, a library or a garden.
