A crest on the head

The heron stands upright with its neck stretched upwards and its beak pointing straight ahead, and the head carries the bird’s typical crest of long feathers. Silver wing feathers lie in layers almost down to the ground. This version looks good among low plants, on a stone bed or beside a garden path, and we make it life-size, so it reads naturally from a distance.
