Wrought Iron Fence (BP91)

BP91 is a panel of sweeping, silvery swirls on a stone base. It combines a traditional approach with modern steel processing techniques and the hand skills of our blacksmiths and metalworkers.

We can make any fence according to your wishes.

Art Nouveau in hand-forged flat bar

BP91 is built from wide, hand-forged flat bars rather than round or square rods. The broad strips of steel bend into waves, spirals and curls that spread symmetrically from the vertical axis of the span, and their joints are riveted, so the round rivet heads remain visible and underline the craft of the construction. The lower part is closed by a solid black panel with a wavy outline, which gives the composition weight.

The surface keeps the marks of the hammer, and a golden patina over the black ground brings out the texture of the metal and the line of every curve.

Stone base, natural materials

On this site the fence stands on a base of split stone between stone-clad pillars, a pairing that suits houses with natural materials on the facade. The design works just as well with modern architecture, where it becomes a bold, artistic accent against plain walls.

Best in short, prominent runs

The Art Nouveau drawing of BP91 looks best in short, well-exposed sections, for example on both sides of an entrance or as decorative spans between masonry parts of a fence. A wicket, a gate and terrace or stair railings can be made from the same flat bars, so the whole property gains one artistic language. Each project is designed individually for the width of the openings.

For a more classical approach to the same idea, look through our other hand-forged fences.
