Classic Forged Handmade Fence (BP214)

BP214 is drawn in the manner of old English palaces and finished in ivory, a combination that appeals to anyone who likes both glamour and the classics.

Tall scrolled panels step down a sloping street between brick pillars.

We make fences of this type from thick steel sections, because only then do they have their particular charm.

Ivory instead of black

Most wrought iron is painted black, which is why BP214 stands out at once. Its ivory finish turns the dense, symmetrical scrollwork into something light and festive, closer to the painted ironwork of old English and French palaces than to an ordinary garden railing. Against dark red brick the pale steel looks almost like carved stone.

Each tall panel has a curved crest, a central medallion of scrolls and rows of bars that keep the lower part secure. On the corner property in the photos the spans step down with the slope of the street, while the pillars keep the line regular.

Glamour on a classic base

The design appeals to people who like a little glamour but do not want to lose the classic proportions of traditional ironwork. The ornament is rich, yet it follows a strict symmetry, and each panel repeats the same drawing, so the fence reads as calm and orderly from a distance and only reveals its detail up close.

To keep that charm, we make fences of this type from thick steel sections. Slender, light bars would make the scrolls look flimsy; solid material gives them presence and keeps the panels rigid on wide spans.

The crest of each panel is forged as one composition and only then joined to the frame, which lets us check its symmetry on the workshop floor. Painted in ivory, any irregularity would show immediately, so this step is done with particular care.

Keeping a light colour perfect

A light colour needs a good base. The panels are protected against corrosion first, then painted in several layers, so the ivory stays even and does not show rust stains at the joints. The finish can be any light shade, from pure white to warm cream, and the scrolls can be picked out with a little gold if you want a richer look.

Matching driveway and pedestrian gates can be made in the same ivory finish; a set of classic forged gates in ivory completes the look.
