Classic Forged Fence (BP253)
BP253 has very traditional shapes: arched spans with spear-topped bars between white pillars. It does not contain many elements, so it never overwhelms.

Traditional forged fences are the true classics of the craft, and we keep that tradition alive.
Arched spans and spear tops
BP253 shows how little a fence needs to look classic. Each span consists of upright bars that end in forged spear heads, and their tops follow a gentle arch from pillar to pillar. Two horizontal rails hold the bars together, and that is almost all. Between white pillars, the dark arches form a clear, rhythmic line in front of the house.
A design with few elements never overwhelms the building or the garden. It also keeps the view open, so the lawn, the flower beds and the facade remain visible from the street, which many owners of traditional houses prefer to a closed boundary.
Details that make the difference
On a sparse fence every detail is on show. The spear heads are forged individually with a clear point and shoulders; the bars are set at exactly the same spacing; and the arch is drawn so that the highest bar sits precisely in the middle of each span. These are small things, but they decide whether a simple fence looks noble or ordinary.
The sections are generous enough to stay straight for many years, and a zinc layer under the paint keeps the black deep and even.
Who chooses an arched railing
Traditional arched railings suit family houses, manor-style homes and buildings with white or pastel walls. They work well on short front fences as well as on long boundaries, where the repeating arches give the plot a calm, ordered edge. The pattern continues naturally into a driveway gate with a higher arch and a matching wicket.
If you would like a little more ornament, a single scroll or a small rosette can be added under each arch without changing the character of the design.
Spear-topped arches have another practical advantage: the points discourage anyone from climbing over, while the open pattern lets neighbours and passers-by see that the garden is well kept. It is a quiet form of security that suits a family home far better than a high, solid wall.
