Openwork Forged Door Grille (DZ4)

DZ4 is an openwork grille made in the form of a door. Scrolls and a central motif fill a tall frame, so it decorates the doorway even when it is closed.

It can be locked with a key, which makes it a security grille, and it can also stay closed to keep a pet in view without letting it out. Most owners, though, choose it simply because it looks so good.

From a goblet to S-scrolls

The pattern starts at the top with a large goblet, from which spirals and S-shaped scrolls flow down, and a decorative lock plate sits in the middle. The open form separates rooms without taking their light, and the same motif can frame a mirror or be repeated in forged window grilles.
