Oriental-Style Property Fence (BP208)

BP208 has an arched panel crowned by a shell, with bronze scrolls filling the space below. It was made by our metalwork masters for a client in the Netherlands.

We can make an identical fence for you and install it across the European Union, as well as in the USA and Japan.

A shell at the top of the arch

The top rail of BP208 steps up into an arch, and at its highest point sits a forged shell, a motif borrowed from Baroque and oriental decoration. Below it, bronze-toned scrolls spread in a symmetrical pattern over upright bars, and a plain lower section keeps the panel calm. The design was made for a client in the Netherlands; the photo shows a panel of the same pattern on a stone-faced base.

Calm frame, rich centre

The richness of BP208 is concentrated in the middle of each span, while the corners and the lower part stay simple. That makes the fence decorative without being heavy, and it lets it work on an ordinary family house as well as on a more representative property. On a long frontage the arches create a gentle up-and-down rhythm along the street.

Every scroll is forged by hand, and the bronze tone is applied over a protective base, darker in the recesses and lighter on the edges.
