Forged Fence in the Form of a Tree (BM6)

BM6 turns each fence span into a tree: a thick trunk rises from a curved stone wall and its branches, covered with leaves, spread along the top.

The spans are extremely solid; a running metre can weigh several hundred kilograms. They are built in a three-dimensional technique we developed, and the pattern can be changed to order.

From trunk to crown

BM6 turns each span into a tree. The lowest part is heavy and calm, with a thick trunk rising from the wall; higher up, the branches become lighter and spread out along the top of the fence, covered with leaves. Because the composition grows from the bottom upwards, it looks natural and never top-heavy, and the leaves complement the branches instead of filling the panel at random.

A three-dimensional technique

The branches are not a flat drawing. They are arranged in several planes and at different depths, so the fence plays with light and shadow and the sculptural form is visible from close up and from far away. We developed this technique ourselves, and it is what allows a running metre of such a fence to weigh several hundred kilograms while still looking alive.

Built to last outdoors

Every part is forged by hand from steel, so the fence is a full metal structure ready for many years of use, not a decoration. After assembly it is galvanized and finished in a bark-like colour, which keeps the sculpture sound in rain and frost. The pattern can be changed to order, from the species of tree to the density of the leaves. More nature fences are part of our collection of sculptured fences.

On a curved wall, as in the photo, each span is shaped to the radius of the masonry, so the branches follow its line and the trees seem to grow along the wall rather than standing in front of it.

A matching gate and wicket

We create this fence as our own original design, one that cannot be mistaken for standard property patterns. Work like this is best seen in person in our company gallery, where the depth of the detail, the texture of the steel and the three-dimensional form are clear, while photographs always flatten them. For a consistent look across the whole property, we can prepare a complete set in one style: fence spans, a wicket and an entrance gate.
