BP221 is built to look like wooden fence boards, but in steel. Massive uprights stand close together with a lattice band near the top, giving a minimalist, very private boundary.

Modern lines in solid steel
BP221 takes the idea of a timber board fence and translates it into steel. Wide, flat uprights stand almost shoulder to shoulder, so from most angles the fence looks closed, while narrow gaps still let air and a little light through. Near the top the uprights give way to a band of square lattice, which lightens the silhouette and gives the long line a clear finishing edge.
There are no scrolls, leaves or finials here. The character comes from proportion, from the rhythm of the uprights and from the sheer weight of the sections, which is why the design suits houses with flat roofs, large windows and plain rendered walls.
Privacy without a blank wall
Many owners of modern houses want a boundary that hides the garden from the street but does not look like a concrete barrier. Because the steel uprights catch the light differently through the day, the fence keeps some depth and texture even though it is almost opaque. The lattice band at the top stops the line from feeling heavy and echoes the grid of contemporary window frames.
The design is also a good match for gardens inspired by Japanese architecture, where calm, repetitive lines and a dark, uniform finish are part of the look. Ornamental grasses or clipped shrubs planted in front of it stand out well against the dark steel.
Built for long, exposed frontages
A fence made of heavy sections needs posts and foundations designed for it, especially on wide plots or exposed sites where wind load matters. We size the posts and fixings to the length of each span and the height of the fence, and on sloping ground we step the panels so that the top line stays level and tidy.

Modern steel fence: common questions
Can BP221 be made completely solid?
Yes. The gaps between the uprights can be closed with steel sheet fixed behind them, or the uprights can simply be set closer together. A fully closed version gives complete privacy but needs stronger posts, because the wind presses on the whole surface.
Does a modern steel fence need much maintenance?
Very little. After corrosion protection and painting, an occasional wash is enough. Small scratches can be touched up with paint in the same colour, which we can supply together with the fence.
