Full Wrought Iron Fence (BP228)
BP228 is a full fence: arched panels with a square lattice and scrolls, a Greek key band along the base and a solid background for privacy.

The ornament can be made on one side or both, and we build it to any height and width.
More than a boundary line
BP228 was created for people who expect more from a fence than just marking the edge of the plot. It is a full metal fence that genuinely screens the property, so you can feel at ease in your own garden without constant eye contact with the street. On the front, each panel carries an arch filled with a square lattice and scrolls, and a Greek key band runs along the base, so the solid structure is dressed in classic ornament.
Orange brick pillars and a pale stone base frame the panels on this property. The black ironwork, the warm brick and the light stone create a strong, elegant frontage that is completely private behind.
A fence you cannot see through
Fences of this kind are chosen where privacy is essential rather than an extra. The closed construction shields the garden, the terrace and the entrance area from the street and from neighbouring plots, which brings peace and order to daily life around the house. Such fences are often called non-see-through or private fences, because their purpose is unmistakable.
Behind the ornament there is a continuous steel background, fixed to a rigid frame. The decoration is not glued on afterwards; the lattice and scrolls are welded to the frame, so the whole panel works as one solid piece.
Ornament on one side or both
A full fence has two faces, and we let the owner decide how each should look. The ornament can be made only on the street side, with a plain painted back facing the garden, or on both sides, so that the view from the terrace is as decorative as the view from the pavement. A double-sided version is especially popular where the fence runs close to the house or the swimming pool.
The hand of the blacksmith
Well-chosen proportions, divisions and joints make a full metal fence look coherent and elegant regardless of the size of the property. The hand work typical of artistic blacksmithing is visible in the lattice crossings, in the curves of the scrolls and in the consistent way the form is carried through every span. It is these details that keep the fence from looking anonymous and technical.
Close to the road
BP228 works especially well as a front fence where the house stands close to a road or a pavement. The solid form creates a quiet entrance zone and reduces the influence of the surroundings on everyday life, while the steel guarantees durability, weather resistance and stability for many years.
- any height and width of span,
- ornament on one or both sides,
- arched or straight tops,
- a matching solid driveway gate and wicket.
Durable by design
Full panels are protected against corrosion inside and out before painting, so the hidden faces of the sheet and the frame are just as well defended as the visible ornament. Small drainage gaps at the foot of each panel let rainwater escape, and the posts are dimensioned for the wind pressure that a closed fence has to resist.
Other closed and semi-closed panels are presented with our private and decorative fences.
Planning a private garden
A full fence changes the way a garden is used. Once the street is out of sight, the terrace, the lawn and even the front of the house become places to relax rather than places to pass through. That is why we often discuss the layout of the garden with clients before drawing the fence: where the seating will be, where the light falls and which views should stay open.
Sometimes the best answer is a mix: full panels along the street and around the terrace, and openwork panels in the same pattern along the side boundaries, where privacy matters less and light is welcome. BP228 makes this easy, because the lattice arch and the Greek key can be used in both versions.
