Classic Stair Railing (BA80)
BA80 combines a diagonal lattice with bold curls around a square newel, made with great attention to detail.
We adapt it to stairs, mezzanines and even terraces and balconies.

A frame with spirals inside
BA80 closes both a flight of stairs and a landing. Its composition is based on a rectangular frame, into which a lively arrangement of spirals and curls is set around a square newel post, with a diagonal lattice in parts of the span. The frame keeps the structure readable, while the spirals give it movement.
Designed for landings and turns
Where a landing meets a flight, the railing changes angle and the forces on it change too. The outer frame of BA80 stiffens each span and makes those junctions strong. The spirals inside are arranged slightly asymmetrically, to avoid a mechanical repetition, and the lower part near the bottom step is filled more densely for extra stability.
The dark finish brings out the drawing of the steel and works well with a wooden floor and a light wall.
Indoors and out
The same pattern can be adapted to mezzanines, terraces and balconies. For outdoor use the railing is galvanized before painting, and the handrail is made of steel rather than wood. Our wrought iron railings for stairs, balconies and terraces show how one design can carry through a whole house.
