Massive Gate Pillar (S1)

S1 is a massive steel pillar built to carry very heavy driveway gates.

It is usually made 280–400 cm (9–13 ft) tall and stands on a broad base that can be up to 100 cm (40 in) across.

Its openwork sides, roof-like cap and forged detail make it one of the most beautiful supports a gate can have; the photos show it in the large set BP56.

Like an old forged portal

S1 is square in section with a broad, projecting cornice, under which run scrolled panels that resemble forged lanterns. A dense diamond lattice fills the lower part, and a brown patina gives the whole the look of an old forged portal. In the photos two pillars are joined at the top by an arched beam with forged leaves, so the entrance feels like a park gate. Pillars of this type belong to the gate set BP56, and examples can be seen at our showroom in Dębica.
