Forged Garden Trellis for Climbing Plants (AP2)

This trellis widens as it rises, so climbing roses or clematis can fan out across it as they grow.

Planted against a house wall, as in the photo, it frames a window and softens a large plain facade.

Up close it is full of blacksmith detail: forged scroll ends, hand-set rivets, twisted bars and a crest of forged lilies across the top. It is a modest piece compared with a gazebo, but it receives exactly the same care.

We build it to any height and width, and can repeat the pattern on larger garden pergolas and arches.

Riveted crossbars

Rows of crossbars are fixed with rivets, and all the forgings are made by hand while hot. We match the dimensions to the wall or the flower bed, so the trellis supports flowers and climbers exactly where they are planted.
