Forged Tree Wicket Gate (BM57)

BM57 is a pedestrian gate made entirely by hand from steel in the shape of a tree.

Trunks and branches grow up from the bottom of the leaf and twist together at the top into a dense crown, so walking through it feels like stepping into a small grove.

We make some of the most unusual gates in the world: wickets and gates that recreate real trees, roots and branches in steel. Every one is hot-dip galvanized, which gives it a life of decades, even centuries.

A gate set into stone

In the photos the wicket is set into a natural stone wall. The rough texture of the stone and the twisted, bark-like steel belong together, and the gate looks as if it had grown into the wall rather than been fitted to it. This form suits stone fences, timber homes and any garden where the entrance should feel close to nature.

Because every branch is shaped individually, the pattern can be denser or more open, and the crown can rise higher above the wall or stay level with the pillars.

Our own technique

These gates are made with a technique we developed in our own workshop and that you will not find anywhere else. We can make an identical or similar wicket for you with any changes you wish: in any shape, size and colour, as a single garden gate or together with a matching driveway gate and fence. More gates of this kind are among our sculpted gates and fences.

Get in touch with a photo of your entrance and its measurements, and we will propose a design.
