Exclusive Glamour Balustrade (BA5)
BA5 is one of the most spectacular balustrades we make. Extremely thick materials, a pattern full of contrasts and powerful sculpted newel balusters at the start and end of the stair give it real drama.

Many elements are three-dimensional, and the whole railing is finished in high-gloss black lacquer against pale marble.
Drama in high-gloss black
BA5 is one of the most spectacular balustrades we make. The photos show it on a curved marble stair: the railing sweeps up and around the landing in high-gloss black lacquer, its scrolls and leaves standing out sharply against the pale stone. At the foot of the stair, a sculpted newel post rises from a cluster of forged leaves and turns into the handrail, a strong entrance accent that defines the whole hall.
Three-dimensional ornament
Many elements of BA5 are three-dimensional rather than flat. Leaves twist out of the plane of the panel, volutes overlap and the newel posts are built up like sculpture from many forged parts. Extremely thick materials give the composition its weight, and the load-bearing members are worked into the ornament, so the railing stays stable while the line remains fluid.
Why high gloss
A gloss finish reflects light from the marble and the chandeliers, so the black steel looks alive rather than heavy. It also emphasises the relief of the ornament, because every curve catches a highlight. Achieving a flawless gloss on forged steel takes careful preparation, with filling, sanding and several coats, which is why the finish is applied in our workshop before installation. A gloss finish works best indoors, which is why we use it mainly on interior wrought iron railings.
