Traditional-Modern Balustrade with Glass (BA68)
BA68 combines modern glass panels with traditional hand-forged ironwork, finished in white. The glass keeps the stair open and bright, while the forged scrolls give it character.

It shows that a modern railing does not need to be plain, and we can make it for any type of stair.
Glass for light, ironwork for character
BA68 combines clear glass panels with traditional hand-forged ironwork, all finished in white. The glass keeps the stair and the mezzanine open and bright, while the forged scrolls and leaves, placed at the ends of the runs and around the posts, give the railing a character that plain glass never has. The photos show it on a stair and along a mezzanine above a living room.
How the glass is held
The glass used in balustrades is laminated safety glass, so that if a pane is ever broken it stays in one piece. It is held in clamps or channels fixed to the steel frame, with rubber gaskets between metal and glass. The forged panels and the glass share the same handrail, which ties the two materials together visually and structurally.
Modern does not mean plain
Many modern interiors use glass railings with thin steel posts, which can look cold. BA68 shows another way: the same openness, with handmade ornament placed where it matters. It suits contemporary homes that want a touch of tradition, and classical houses where a fully forged railing would feel too heavy. We make it for straight, turning and curved stairs, and for galleries. Glass infill with forged ornament is one of the newer directions in our indoor railings.
