Modern Forged Art Nouveau Gate (BP74)

BP74 sets flowing Art Nouveau lines inside a massive, modern arched frame. The contrast between the heavy outline and the light, sweeping curves inside it is what makes the gate so striking.

It is double-sided and made from thick material, which suits a contemporary residence perfectly. For a more traditional take on the style, see our Art Nouveau gate BP111.

Heavy edges, a flowing centre

The lower part, the sides and the top line of BP74 are closed and substantial, almost architectural. Between them, scrolls and whiplash lines run in symmetrical arcs, so the eye travels from the solid edges into a light, open centre. Waviness and fluidity are the hallmarks of Art Nouveau, but so is a certain weight, and this gate keeps both. The arched top can be raised for a more formal entrance or flattened slightly for a lower house.

For homes and for public buildings

Because it is double-sided and generously proportioned, BP74 works not only at a private house but also in front of a museum, a gallery, a restaurant or a country inn, where the entrance is the first thing guests remember. It can be hung between masonry pillars or combined with a metal fence, and both leaves can be prepared for an automatic opener.

Forging and finish

Every scroll is drawn out and bent hot by experienced blacksmiths, and only high-grade steel goes into the frame. The finished gate is hot-dip galvanized and painted, which protects it against knocks and the weather, so it keeps its looks for many years with nothing more than an occasional wash. We can change the width, the height of the arch and the density of the scrollwork to suit your entrance.
