Traditional Blacksmith Gate (BP110)

BP110 pairs simplicity with finesse.

Plain vertical rungs, the backbone of most traditional gates, sit beneath a great sweeping arch, and the lower part is braced with arched trusses, a decorative element we rarely see on other gates.

Forged leaves, flowers and acanthus fill the details, and the gate rests on decorative metal pillars topped with lanterns. In the photo it closes a driveway in front of a garage.

Woven lattice at the base

BP110 is a double openwork gate with vertical rungs in the centre and a lattice in the form of a woven plait below, finished with ornament. The leaves follow a gentle arch decorated with delicate scrolls and plant motifs, which softens the whole outline.

The green and gold colouring of the gate in the photo gives it much of its style, and the colours are always agreed individually with the owner. BP110 is protected by hot-dip galvanizing, so over time the materials do not discolour or rust, and the gate keeps its fine appearance. Its leaves move very lightly and smoothly, and its height protects the property well, so the gate combines durability, practicality and good looks.
