Blessed Karolina Kózka Stained Glass Window, Parish of Divine Providence, Jodłówka-Wałki (WK4)
WK4 is a church stained glass window of Blessed Karolina Kózka, made for the Parish of Divine Providence in Jodłówka-Wałki.
The young martyr stands in a sunlit field among flowers, beneath rays of light, with her name in a band at the bottom of the window.
Like the other windows in this church, it was made in the lead technique.
Painted and fired into the glass
The figure, the landscape and the inscription are painted with metal oxides and fired at 600 °C (1,112 °F), so they become a permanent part of the glass. This is the most durable way of painting glass, which is why the window will keep its colours for generations.
Karolina Kózka, beatified in 1987, is especially venerated in the Tarnów region, and her window links the parish with local history.
