Wrought Steel Fence (BP252)

BP252 follows a traditional blacksmith design with a hint of fantasy: fans of scrolls open across each panel between brick pillars with lanterns.

We can deliver it, like everything we make, to any corner of the world.

Shaped like an open fan

BP252 is recognisable by a form that resembles an open fan. Slender bars grow from the lower part of each span, spread upwards and end in large, round spirals. The flowing lines of the volutes create a light, openwork drawing in which every element leads the eye to the next one.

Here the panels sit on a low plinth between stone-clad pillars topped with lanterns. A tall row of thujas behind them sets off the graphite colour of the steel and the strong shape of the ornament, so the fence decorates the property while still letting light through.

Spirals bent by hand

Every spiral is made by hand in our workshop. The bars are bent hot and joined so that the fan stays symmetrical and well proportioned even when a span has an unusual width. Galvanizing and paint keep the fence looking good for many years.

With a hedge behind it

The fan pattern works best between tall pillars that give each span a clear frame. Although the fence is openwork, the dense spirals make it look fuller than a classic railing, which goes well with a hedge planted on the garden side. The same motif can be repeated in a driveway gate and a wicket, creating a coherent entrance.

Like everything we make, BP252 can be delivered to any corner of the world, packed for transport and supplied with drawings for installation.
