Metal Sculpture – Giant Basket of Fruit and Vegetables (Z131)
Z131 is a very large basket of fruit and vegetables made by hand from steel. It is about 70 cm (28 in) high and weighs about 200 kg (440 lb).
Every detail was made by hand with great care, and the whole is hot-dip galvanized and painted.
The basket was made for the town of Ciechanów. We make all kinds of metal sculptures and blacksmith work to order.
A landmark of the Green Market
This remarkable metal sculpture of a basket full of fruit and vegetables was made entirely by hand from steel. It was created especially for the Green Market (Zielony Targ) in Ciechanów, where it has become a lasting and recognisable part of the townscape. It is not only a decoration but a symbol of nature, abundance and the tradition of farming, perfectly reflecting the character of the place.
In the photos it stands beside our life-size farmer holding grain and the balance scale, which together form a small sculpture trail.
Softness from hard steel
Every detail of the composition was carefully formed, from the shapes of the fruit to the delicate stalks and leaves. Thanks to precise work that keeps the proportions and lightness, the sculpture is strikingly realistic, even though it is made of a hard, heavy material. It shows how artistic metalwork can give steel softness and a natural feel, creating a piece full of expression and meaning.
The steel basket is a perfect union of craft and art. On the one hand it shows technical precision; on the other it carries a message about the local community, nature and everyday life. In Ciechanów it acts as the artistic calling card of the Green Market, attracting visitors and emphasising the character of a place where fresh produce is sold.
