Metal Railing on a Garden Bridge (BA96)

This is one of the most unusual railings we make: shaped entirely by hand from steel as our own design, with no ready-made patterns.

Natural lines and an organic form make it look like an integral part of the architecture rather than an ordinary technical element.

We make railings like this individually for every client, creating pieces that cannot be repeated and that nobody else makes. Here the railing was mounted on a garden bridge, but for you we can make it for any other place, such as a balcony or a staircase.

Part of the garden

This piece shows an artistic railing designed as an integral part of a garden bridge. The form is not treated as a simple barrier, but as part of the composition of the garden. The lines run freely and organically, so the railing blends harmoniously with the greenery, the water and the steel-and-timber structure of the bridge. A steel heron rests on one side of the bridge, as if it had landed there.

Sculptural steel

The railing was made entirely by hand in our forge, using traditional artistic blacksmithing and metal sculpture techniques in which the steel is modelled individually and spatially. Every element is made without ready-made patterns or prefabricated parts. Irregular lines, varied thickness of the details and deliberately built depth give the structure a clearly sculptural character.

Despite its organic, free composition, the railing keeps full functionality and structural stability. Combining handwork in steel with architectural discipline means the piece does not dominate the space, but organises and emphasises it.

Always made to order

We make railings of this type only to order, each time adapting the design to a specific place: a garden bridge, the edge of a pond, a balcony or another element of outdoor architecture.
