Wrought Iron Railing in a Modern Style (BWZ10)

BWZ10 is built from interlocking squares and diamonds, a modern geometric pattern with a subtle nod to the classics.

It is very heavy and solid, and any part of it can be modified to match your expectations.

Squares and diamonds

BWZ10 is based on a firm geometry and a clear modular division. Each span consists of repeated square fields with a central diamond, and the bars cross precisely so that every module stays symmetrical. A strong perimeter frame stabilises the railing, and vertical posts finished with a bent detail set the rhythm of the balcony.

No ready-made segments

The railing was made in stages: preparing the sections, cutting, bending and fitting each joint by hand. There are no mass-produced segments here; the precision of the joints and the symmetry of every module decide how the railing is perceived, so each module was refined individually to keep a uniform character.

Modern facades, subtle classics

A geometric railing like this works well with simple building forms, large glazing and a restrained colour scheme. Dark steel contrasts with light render and emphasises the horizontal line of the balcony without burdening the facade, while the diamonds give a subtle nod to classical lattice. BWZ10 is very heavy and solid, and any part can be modified to your expectations. The diamonds can be enlarged, the squares replaced with rectangles, or a single forged rosette added at the centre for a softer look.

Height, slab and window axes

In balconies and terraces the key decision is the relation between the height of the railing and the line of the slab. The railing should be treated as part of the elevation, taking the window axes and the material divisions into account, and outdoor use calls for the right steel sections and joining methods so that it lasts under constant exposure to the weather while staying visually light at the top of the building.
