Forged Highland Gate (BM52)
The gate in the photos was installed next to the Tatra National Park as the driveway gate to a beautiful house built of logs.
Its character echoes the place where it stands: the surroundings of Zakopane and the nature that is everywhere there.
It is made entirely by hand from steel using traditional artistic blacksmithing and metal sculpture, in a fully three-dimensional technique: it is a spatial gate.
A scene from the edge of the forest
A forged capercaillie with a fanned tail sits on top of the gate, and lower down, among the dense branches, birds and the silhouettes of forest animals appear. The whole forms a scene that could have been taken from the edge of a Tatra forest. It is a design we especially recommend for highland homes, chalets and log houses.
The gate is a double swing gate on heavy hinges, prepared for automation, and its dark finish lets the steel animals stand out against the green of the hillside.
