English-Style Palace Gate Set (BP14)

BP14 belongs to the highest league of luxury forged gates.

It is an English-style palace entrance about 10 metres (roughly 33 ft) long: a central gate with a fixed crown, two wickets and four massive forged pillars that carry the entire weight, topped with globe lamps.

Gilded crests, bars with gold tips and a dense band of scrolls give the ironwork the depth associated with the great English country houses.

For historic palaces, manors and castles

Sets like this are intended for traditional and historic palaces, manors and castles, and each one is planned around the architecture it will face. The pillars are the same kind of openwork forged pillars that we also make on their own.

Gold used with restraint

In this set the central pillars carry the globe lamps, which light the entrance in the evening and underline the symmetry of the composition. Lower side fields closed by further pillars run either side of the double gate, and gilded spear tips and lilies repeat rhythmically along the whole length. The drawing is calmer than in our baroque sets: the black background and the vertical bars leave plenty of air, and gold appears only at chosen points.
