Rococo Stair Railing (BA66)

BA66 is an interior balustrade in the rococo style, hand-forged from iron and non-ferrous metals. Brass acanthus leaves curl along the panels, and decorative balusters full of detail punctuate the run.

The handrail in the photo is wood, but we can also use steel or bronze.

Why rococo works on a staircase

Rococo ornament is asymmetrical and full of movement, which suits the rising line of a stair perfectly. It is one of the most admired designs among our interior stair railings and a highlight of our wrought iron railings as a whole.

Brass and iron together

BA66 combines forged iron with brass. The structure and the scrolls are iron, while many of the acanthus leaves are made of brass, which keeps a warm golden colour without gilding and develops a soft sheen over time. A pronounced starting post anchors the composition and gives it an architectural point of weight.

A handrail shaped to the curve

The wooden handrail in a natural tone balances the decorative metal and follows the curve of the stair, so the hand moves smoothly from bottom to top. Its profile is chosen to be comfortable to grip, and it can be replaced with steel or bronze if the interior calls for it.
