Balustrade with Hand-Forged Acanthus (BA26)
BA26 is decorated with acanthus leaves forged intricately by our best craftsmen, curling around a curved gallery above a marble hall.

Acanthus is the signature of fine blacksmithing, and here it gives the whole interior a classical grandeur.
Classic ornament, made by hand
Each leaf is cut, shaped and veined individually. If you love this motif, look also at our rococo railing BA51 with gilded acanthus.
Following the curve of the gallery
BA26 was made for a curved gallery above a marble hall. The railing follows the arc of the gallery exactly, so the handrail runs in one smooth line and the acanthus panels keep the same proportions all the way round. Achieving that on a curve means every span is slightly different in shape, and each is set out from a template taken on site.
A solid newel post
A strong starting post anchors the whole railing and gives it a clear point of departure. On BA26 it is made from solid steel and decorated with the same acanthus as the panels, so it reads as part of the design rather than as a separate support. The hand-forged leaves are welded into the structure, which keeps the railing safe while letting the ornament be generous.
