Interior Railing with Grapes (BA12)
BA12 winds an Art Nouveau grapevine along the stair, with bunches of grapes, leaves and tendrils among the scrolls.

It was designed for palace interiors and luxurious residences, and it may be the most beautiful grape railing we know of. More interior designs are among our stair balustrades.
Bunches modelled in the round
On BA12 the grapes are not flat silhouettes. Each bunch is built from many small forged balls, modelled in three dimensions and joined so that the bunch hangs naturally from its stem. Vine leaves with chased veins and curling tendrils wind between the scrolls, and the whole grapevine climbs the white stair in the photo like a living plant.
Load-bearing ornament
All elements are forged from solid steel and fitted to the geometry of the flight. The vine is part of the load-bearing structure, not an ornament hung on a frame, which gives the railing the stiffness needed for daily use. The dark finish brings out the depth of the forms and the texture of the hand-worked steel, while the openwork lets light flow between the floors.
Traditional forging indoors
The rich composition is laid out rhythmically, so it does not overwhelm the space despite the wealth of detail. The railing suits houses in which the stairs are an important architectural element and need both a durable structure and a refined setting. Our interior stair railings are made by traditional forging, which gives each one an individual character while keeping high technical standards and secure fixing points.
