A sunburst rosette and forged lilies

BA74 is built around one central detail: a large, three-dimensional rosette of radiating petals, set into the span like a sunburst. Beside it, tall forged lilies grow up from the bottom rail, their petals open and their leaves curled. A massive turned newel post stands where the stair changes direction and steadies the whole composition.

Not a decorative overlay

The ornament of BA74 is part of the structure, not a thin layer added to a plain railing. The sections are chosen to keep the spans stiff, and the junction at the newel is designed to take the forces of the turn without strain. A dark patina emphasises the relief of the forged steel and keeps the look timeless.
