Forged Wicket Gate with a Bear – Highland Forest Gate (BM53)

BM53 is a very heavy wicket gate, about 300 kg (660 lb), showing a bear cub leaning against a tree limb.

It is forged entirely by hand from steel and installed in the beautiful setting of Zakopane and the Tatra National Park, as the entrance to a lovely log home.

Fully three-dimensional

Both the gate and the bear are completely spatial, just as in nature. The bear leans against the limb as if it had just come out of the forest, and arching branches form a natural vault above it.

In the photos the gate stands between stone pillars topped with lanterns: an entrance that immediately reveals the mountain character of the property. It belongs to the same set as our highland driveway gate BM52 and forest fence BM54.
