BA17 is minimal and elegant, and its most memorable element is the starting post: instead of a ball or a finial, it carries a tall stained-glass lamp that lights the bottom of the stairs. The glass shade, with a floral pattern in soft colours, glows in the stairwell and turns the first step into a small focal point of the house.

Light enough for timber stairs

The railing itself is a lightweight design of slender bars and a few curls, perfect for timber or cantilevered stairs where low weight matters. Openwork filling keeps the stairwell bright, which suits stairs with light treads and an open layout. Each element is formed individually and joined for durability and safety in daily use.

The stained-glass lamp can be made in other patterns and colours, and similar lamps can be repeated on the landing posts.
