Forged Fence with Ears of Grain (BM47)
BM47 is a field of forged grain: tall stalks and ears of wheat sway across the span, with a few red flowers among them.

It measures 200 by 250 cm in the photo and is made of 100% steel. The theme suits nature lovers and guest houses or farm stays, and the whole span is hot-dip galvanized.
A field in steel
BM47 is a field of forged grain. Tall stalks rise from the bottom of the span and end in ears of wheat, set at slightly different heights and angles so that the whole panel seems to sway in the wind. A few red flowers grow among them, like poppies at the edge of a field. The span in the photos measures 200 by 250 cm and is made entirely of steel.
Ears forged one by one
The ears are what make the design. Each one is built from small forged grains joined along a stem, with fine awns drawn out from thin rod, so the ear has real volume rather than a flat outline. Dozens of them in one span give a rich texture that changes with the angle of the light and the time of day.
Light and stable
Despite the amount of detail, the span looks light, because the stalks are slender and the gaps between them are generous. The stalks are welded to the top and bottom rails and braced at mid-height, so the panel stays stable and keeps its shape. The whole span is hot-dip galvanized, and the grain can be finished in natural gold, bronze or a dark patina.
Who chooses a grain fence
The theme suits nature lovers, farmers, bakers, millers and owners of guest houses and farm stays, for whom grain is part of their story. It also works as a single decorative span in a modern fence, where it brings warmth and individuality to a simple building. The size and the pattern can be modified freely; for related motifs see our designer gates and fences.
Colours of the harvest
The grain can stay in a natural steel tone under clear protection, be finished in warm gold to suggest ripe wheat, or be darkened with a patina so that the red flowers stand out more. The flowers themselves can be poppies, cornflowers or both, the traditional companions of a cereal field.
A grain fence works especially well with brick or timber, as on the property in the photos, where the warm colour of the brick pillars echoes the colour of the ears. For a farmhouse, a mill or a bakery, the motif can continue on a gate, a sign or a bench.
Because the stalks are fine, we recommend a slightly higher bottom rail where lawnmowers or snow ploughs pass close to the fence.
Quality without shouting
The motif does not compete for attention with loud effects; it builds an impression of quality through form, craft and precision. Each span is made in our workshop as part of a consistent property system that can be joined with a wicket and a gate in the same style, and the repetition of the motif is controlled, so the fence looks harmonious even along longer runs.
