Forged Garden Lamp (OGD74)

OGD74 is designed around the letter S: the post sweeps up and over in one graceful curve, and the lantern hangs from its end.

It uses many blacksmith techniques but little ornament, so it stays light.

In the photo it lights a porch with a bench. Tell us what lantern you need, and we will forge it for you.

Light where you walk

Garden lights let you move around the property safely after dark, so they have to suit both the building and the layout of the garden. From a round base, the main column of OGD74 rises in a graceful arc to a lantern that faces down, so the light falls on the path rather than into your eyes. The design is versatile enough for almost any property, from a classic manor to a modern house with a plain facade.

Standard height 2 to 2.5 metres

The standard height is 2 to 2.5 metres (6 ft 7 in to 8 ft 2 in), but we can forge the lamp to any height. Because the light source sits high, one lamp lights a wide area, which makes the drive and steps safer and more comfortable to use at night. Placed in pairs, the lamps frame an entrance; in a row, they mark the line of a drive.

Made to last outdoors

The lamps are made by experienced artist blacksmiths from high-grade steel, then galvanized and painted, so they resist knocks and the weather and keep their finish for years. For lower lighting along borders and paths, see our low garden lamps.

Scrolls around the column

Decorative scrolls grow from the base and twine around the main column, and the surface of the metal is kept in a dark brown shade. The whole structure has a very light and dynamic form. The lamp can stand on a terrace, near a relaxation area, on the drive or beside the entrance, so that the most representative parts of the property are shown off after dark.
