Forged Gate with Wood (BM13)

BM13 combines wrought metal with natural wood. Timber boards fill the leaves, and over them our blacksmiths laid acanthus scrolls and large carved steel birds.

It is entirely hand-made and a fine example of how warm wood and dark iron complement each other.

The same from both sides

The forged ornaments on our wooden gates are made in a two-sided technique, so the gate looks the same and carries an identical pattern on both faces. Against the timber infill runs a symmetrical scene with two forged birds turned towards each other, surrounded by scrolls and leaves, and a decorative spearhead rises above the centre of the gate. More designs are collected among our sculptured gates and fences.
