Curved Artistic Metal Bench (DMK88)

DMK88 is a curved garden bench forged by hand from steel, its frame, arms and back made of crossing branches that look as though they had grown into a seat.

The seat follows a shallow arc, so several people can sit slightly turned towards one another, around a tree, a fire pit or a garden table. It is made of narrow dark slats that follow the curve, while everything around them, from the legs to the top of the backrest, is a tangle of forged limbs that cross, split and rejoin.

Bark made of steel

The surface of every branch is uneven, folded and in places almost grainy. That bark texture is worked by hand, blow by blow, and no two sections come out the same. The steel is finished in a dark, almost black tone that brings out the form and hides the small scratches a light paint would show at once.

Over 300 kg of steel

The bench weighs more than 300 kg (660 lb), so it stays exactly where you put it, and the massive steel structure is protected against corrosion, so it can stand outdoors in every season. That weight also makes it suitable for public places: parks, hotel gardens and the space in front of an office building or a gallery. In our yard in Dębica it stands next to a lion sculpture, which shows how naturally it sits among figures and greenery.

Made to your design

Because the branches are formed freely, every DMK88 is a one-off rather than a copy of the photo. We can adjust the length and shape of the curve, the height of the backrest and the details of the branches, always following our own designs and the techniques developed in our workshop. The bench belongs to our designer furniture collection alongside the artistic coffee table, and both can be seen at our showroom in Dębica, where dozens of forged pieces are on display.
