Exterior Stair Railing (BA52)

BA52 is a richly ornamented stair railing that sweeps down a flight of granite steps and finishes in a generous curl.

Medallions on both sides of the entrance

BA52 follows the axis of the entrance and the changing geometry of the landing, running in a smooth line on both sides of the steps. The infill is built around central medallions in round frames, completed with hand-forged motifs and twisted bars, all held in a stable structure with massive posts and a strong handrail that ends in a generous curl at the bottom.

Fitting the turns

The material was heated, modelled and fitted individually to the angle of each turn. Matching the railing precisely where it changes direction takes experience, because the line must stay rigid and the ornament must flow at the same time. The colour is up to you: black, graphite, bronze or a light finish to match the stone of the steps.

Against brick and a wide landing

In our workshop ironwork like this is made in stages, from preparing the raw elements, through shaping in the fire, to the final refinement of the detail and the protection of the surface. Here the structure is the foundation for the ornament, not the other way round. Set against a brick facade and a wide landing, BA52 creates a clear architectural frame that underlines the solidity and prestige of the house.
