Forged Garden Bench (MK1)

MK1 is one of the benches we are asked for most often: a backrest of generous, perfectly balanced scrolls above a seat of wooden slats.

Its classic form suits almost any garden. The Independence bench and the bench with a coat of arms are both based on it.

Balance rather than decoration

MK1 does not try to impress through ornament alone. Its strength lies in the balance between function and looks: the metal lines run consistently, the form organises the space instead of dominating it, and the bench complements the planting rather than competing with it. Over time it becomes a natural part of the garden, a place where people stop for a moment or sit for a long afternoon. A forged garden table with similar scrolls can complete the setting.

Calm and orderly

MK1 is based on simplicity and a clear form that feels at home in a garden. It looks calm and orderly, with no elements that would draw attention away from the surroundings, and it was designed to work naturally with greenery, paths and garden architecture. The seat and back were designed for everyday comfort, and MK1 shows how a calm, timeless form ages well. MK1 is the base model from which several of our forged garden benches were developed, including MK1B and MK1C.
